Lillington Art Group, formally known as Lillington Watercolour Group, was started in 1984 by a group of friends. They were interested in painting and drawing and wished to work together to improve their skills and knowledge through mutual support and encouragement, which is still the aim of our membership today. Some of the original founders are still members and some of our younger members were perhaps not born in 1984.
We would like to expand our membership to all who are interested in producing art using pencils, pastels, or any water-based painting medium. New colleagues, of all painting ability levels, are welcome to join our friendly and supportive group. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. in Lillington, in a venue which is large and comfortable. Also, during the summer months we have painting sessions outdoors, weather permitting.
The group hold an annual exhibition of our work each summer in the South Lodge at the entrance to Jephson Gardens. This gives us the opportunity to show off some our work to the public and interest possible future members. Examples of our Member’s work can be found in ‘The Gallery’ page.
Our Group is currently full, but if you are interested in joining us in the future to enjoy time painting or drawing, improving your skills, and socializing, or if you would like to know more about us or any of the paintings in our Gallery, please send an enquiry through the ‘Contact Us’ page, or by emailing lillingtonartgroup@gmail.com for further information. We can also be found on Facebook.
